As the nation rejoices in celebrating Singapore’s 51st National Day, the Sentosa Merlion will once again come alive, illuminated by Hexogon Solution, turning into a canvas for spectacular 3-D video animations.

Merlion Magic Lights: Sentosa Celebrates Singapore 51 will feature the theme of rising stars in an 8-minute visual spectacular, specially designed for the Nation’s 51^st birthday. The show recaps the past 50 years of Singapore’s glory and looks forward to the next 50 years and beyond. Different symbolic professions have been selected to represent the diversity of occupations that contributed to the building of the Nation. This edition will also feature a new 3-D graphic approach to transform the Merlion into a multi-faceted structure. Combining a myriad of images with lighting, audio and other visual effects, the 37-meter tall Merlion sculpture will be enhanced to awe the senses of both locals and tourists.

“We are honoured to be working with Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC) once again as we light up one of Singapore’s national icon on the country’s very own island resort this National Day. Hexogon Solution has worked with SDC to present thematic integrated displays on many occasions such as Sentosa’s 40th Anniversary celebrations in 2013, Christmas 2014 and SG50 celebrations last year, and we look forward to presenting future editions for visitors to Sentosa,” said Group Managing Director of Hexogon Solution, Adrian Goh.  

“Sentosa Merlion Magic Lights has been a perennial crowd favourite since its launch, breathing new life into the iconic tower. In this edition, we have further enhanced the visual spectacle for the audience, adding on synchronised lighting effects to the Sentosa Merlion’s surroundings as well. We are delighted to work with Hexogon Solution once again to bring visitors even more captivating moments and magical photo opportunities as they create unique memories on The State of Fun,” said Regina Chia, Assistant Director of Entertainment & Programming at Sentosa Leisure Management, the island management arm of Sentosa Development Corporation.

Merlion Magic Lights: Sentosa Celebrates Singapore 51 will take place every night at the Merlion Plaza from now until 28 August 2016, with seven show times starting at 7.45pm.
