Hexogon Solution was invited by New Taipei City Government for the second consecutive time to execute the largest projection mapping in Taiwan at New Taipei City Hall in celebration of Christmas. The opening night attracted thousands of spectators in the presence of New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu.

The 39 days projection commence from November 24, 2017, to January 1, 2018, revolves around the Fang Tou Bear (方頭熊) family (translated as the square-headed bear) experiencing a whimsical, joyous and extravagant circus Christmas adventure. A myriad of festive images and colours adorn the façade of the building and a cone structure at New Taipei City Hall, covering a projection area of 9,000 square meters – the size of two soccer fields. A total of 33 units of Christie Boxer 4K30 digital projectors and 14 units of Christie HD20K-J were activated to provide intense colour and brightness to the facade of the New Taipei City Hall building, and a cone structure that is used as a Christmas tree. In addition, 2 projectors were fitted with movinghead mirrors to project characters on the Banqiao Train Station building façade. To further enhance the mood of this festive season, Hexogon Solution collaborated with a Singaporean singer, songwriter and record producer JJ Lin for the music.

Adrian Goh, Group Managing and Artistic Director of Hexogon Solution said, “We are immensely honoured to be given this opportunity for the second time to create this visual spectacular for New Taipei City Government. The challenges faced were the short turnaround time for content creation and graphic rendering. However, we have an in-house team that enabled us to work round the clock, and it is an accomplishment to see the final work presented. Hexogon Solution thrives on setting new records, and we are proud to be part of this achievement.”

Alex Tien, Managing Director of Hexogon Solution Taiwan, added, “Preparations took place since June. The unpredictable onsite weather condition was one of the challenges faced on the ground level. However, our experience from various extensive set up enabled the team to set up efficiently in two weeks.”

Hexogon Solution continues to remain at the forefront of digital projection and will continuously strive to break records.
