(September 2017) – Hexogon Solution Fifth Successive Lightup In Formula 1 Grand Prix
Marina Bay Street Circuit, Singapore
September 2017
September 2017
Singapore played host to the 10th Formula 1 Grand Prix night race at the Marina Bay. Illumination of the surrounding buildings and iconic sites becomes an imperative task not only for spectators but also paramount for camera footages to be captured to showcase and highlight Singapore’s dazzling manicured city skyline around the immensely brightly lilted Formula 1 street circuit.
Hexogon Solution has been tasked to light up all the key buildings and monuments around the five-kilometer city street circuit since 2013. Over 500 architecture and intelligent light fixtures were used for this entire project over Civilian War Memorial, The National Gallery Singapore, Esplanade Theatre, Benjamin Sheares Bridge, Victoria Concert Hall, Swissotel helipad, Singapore Flyer, Conservatories and SuperTrees at Gardens By The Bay. A total of 46 latest Christie Boxer 4K30 high-lumens projectors also displayed bright and colorful images on the iconic Merlion statue at the Merlion Park, as well as digital floor projections on the Marina Bay Floating Platform, and several live screening of the race across the track. A new addition this year is a gigantic illuminated 150m x 20m “SINGAPORE” word floating in the waters of Marina Bay area.
All installations had been designed for maximum TV exposure to highlight stunning views of the city-state from aerial helicopter views featuring the central business district skyline. The team had to ensure that the lighting and projection systems were stable and performed at their best when the TV camera panned across the entire area to capture panoramic views. We are proud to be part of this prestigious event for the 5th consecutive year, and happy to learn that our customers were satisfied with the overall result.
