HEXOGON SOLUTION LIGHT UP THE CITY FOR THE SINGAPORE FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX 2013 – 2016

Singapore host it’s 9th night race in the Formula 1 Grand Prix calendar at the Marina Bay area. The entire Marina Bay was transformed into a street circuit which utilises powerful lighting systems to replicate daylight conditions and the most stringent safety protocols ensure driver and spectator safety. The illumination of the surrounding build becomes an imperative task to feature the vibrancy and the beautiful skyline of Singapore to viewers around the world.

Hexogon Solution was tasked since 2013 – 2016 to light up all the key buildings and monuments around the five-kilometer city street circuit. Over 500 architecture and intelligent light fixtures were used for this entire project over Civilian War Memorial, The National Gallery Singapore; Formal Supreme Court Building & City Hall Building, Esplanade Theatre, Benjamin Sheares Bridge, Victoria Concert Hall, Swissotel, Singapore Flyer, Conservatories and SuperTrees at Gardens By The Bay. A total of 46 latest Christie Boxer 4K30_ projectors also displayed bright and colorful images on the iconic Merlion statue at the Merlion Park, as well as digital floor projections on the Marina Bay Floating Platform, several live screening of the race across the track.

All installations had been designed for maximum TV exposure to highlight stunning views of the city-state from aerial helicopter views featuring the central business district skyline. The team had to ensure that the lighting and projection systems were stable and performed at their best when the TV camera panned across the entire area to capture panoramic views. We are proud to be part of this prestigious event for the 4th consecutive year, and happy to learn that our customers were satisfied with the overall result.
